Reopening Plan for the 2021-2022 School Year

Dear Hooksett School District Parents and Staff,

I am writing on behalf of the Hooksett School Board to ensure parents and staff are aware of the Reopening Plan for the 2021-2022 school year. It is the Board’s intention to make masks optional. Social distancing of 3 feet will be followed whenever feasible. Cleaning and disinfecting common services will also be continued.

We understand the social and emotional impact mask wearing had on our school community. There was some confusion last year over which mandates the district followed. From the onset of the pandemic, we followed guidance from the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NHDHHS), the Center of Disease Control (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Their guidance helped the Board to establish policies regarding the pandemic. As of today, the only requirement for mask use is on school buses per CDC orders CDC Order. We will continue to follow their guidance and implement any updated changes into the reopening plan.

The Reopening Plan can be found on the district’s website here. Please feel free to email the Board at hsb@sau15.net or call the SAU Office at 622-3731, with any questions you may have. The Hooksett School Board’s next meeting will be held on August 17, 2021 at 6:00 pm in the David R. Cawley Media Center.

Sincerely,

William J. Rearick
Superintendent of Schools
