Principal’s Message

August 15, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians, I would like to extend a warm welcome to students, families and staff as we transition back to another great school year at Cawley Middle School. I anticipate that students will return to school curious, eager to learn, and ready to seek out academic and co-curricular experiences. Fortunately, the tremendous staff at Cawley are prepared to help build a well-rounded middle school experience for students by encouraging students to embrace change, accept challenges and get involved within the school and the Hooksett community.

We have high expectations for students and teachers. The comprehensive curriculum and standards provide varied and rigorous learning experiences that enable students to think critically, work collaboratively, communicate effectively and act with integrity. Each day, students attend sixty-minute core classes in the areas of Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. In addition, students attend two unified arts classes a day. Class offerings include: Industrial Technology, Physical Education, Art, Music, Computer Technology, Spanish, French, Family and Consumer Science and Health. We also have a plethora of co-curricular experiences that provide students with additional opportunities to achieve a common goal and to connect with peers and to work as a team, club or performing arts group.

General information and announcements about the school can be found on the school’s website at https://cawley.sau15.net/. The website, Twitter, Facebook and the Bright Arrow email system are primarily used as the method for disseminating announcements and information. The website also has access to PowerSchool, teachers’ email addresses and websites. Please make sure that your email address is updated on your student’s emergency form. The school uses this address to email parents important information regularly through the Bright Arrow Notification System.

As principal, my primary focus is maintaining a safe learning environment in order for all students to achieve at a high level academically, socially and emotionally. Because families are an integral part of a student’s educational team, please contact me at any time if you would like to discuss your student’s experience at Cawley Middle School. I am looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year and will continue to work to make sure that all students have a positive experience at Cawley Middle School.

Sincerely,

Matthew Benson
