    Dear Parents/Guardians, This year Cawley Middle School will have Open House in a virtual setting. Each team will have a separate night for Open House in which the teachers will present an overview of the curriculum, new learning management system, grading and routines. On the day of your child’s Open House, parents/guardians will receive an email with the link to the webinar. Parents/guardians can ask questions via the chat feature during the presentation.     Any students interested in running for a Student Council Officer position please click on the link for the Application for Student Council.  Applications must be submitted in person or emailed to Ms. Sarette at or Mrs. Adams at by Wednesday, September 23.  The positions that are open are 7th Grade Treasurer, 8th Grade Secretary, Vice President and President.   • NWEA Fall Assessment

    Dear Parents/Guardians, Starting the week of September 21, students in grades 6-8 will complete the Measures of Academic Progress benchmark assessment from Northwest Evaluation Association, or NWEA MAP, for mathematics and reading. NWEA ​MAP Growth is used to measure a student’s performance level at different times of the school year and determine their academic growth in mathematics and reading.     AN IMPORTANT FOOD SERVICE UPDATE REGARDING STUDENT MEALS Last week the USDA extended waivers allowing all students under the age of 18 to receive free meals. The Hooksett School District is working with the State to provide this benefit to our students. These waivers will cover meals starting immediately and are covered through December 31, 2020 or UNTIL FUNDS RUN OUT whichever comes first. With that being said, we are encouraging all parents to continue to fill out “Free and Reduced” applications as they normally would at the beginning of any school year.     Dear Parents, The first day of school was full of excitement and smiles. The entire Cawley staff did an outstanding job working with students to ensure that the health and safety protocols and procedures were followed. One area for improvement that I am working on is afternoon dismissal. The first day of afternoon dismissal was much longer than we anticipated, and as a result, we are making an adjustment to the process effective today.
