  • Robotics Team Earns Trip to State Championship

    Congratulations to the Cawley Space Hawks for receiving the Core Values award at the FIRST Lego League robotics qualifying tournament in Manchester, NH. The Core Values award is given to the team that demonstrates exceptional respect, inclusion, team spirit, and willingness to help others. This means that in addition to being good robot programmers and project researchers, the students are also good people.  The school community is so proud of the Cawley Space Hawks.  The Space Hawks will be competing in the NH state championship meet on Dec 2 at Windham High School.

  • Report Card Information Night (Competency Based Reporting System)

    This year, Cawley Middle School will be using a competency-based reporting system. On November 28, at 6:30 pm in the Cawley Media Center, Principal, Matthew Benson, Assistant Principal, Brad Largy, Math Accountability and Assessment Director, Meghan Largy and Assistant Superintendent, Marge Polak will present the new middle school competency based report cards to parents. Competencies are student-learning targets that represent key content-specific concepts, skills, and knowledge. A competency is achieved when a student demonstrates, through performance and over a period of time with multiple opportunities, that they can use the knowledge, skills and concepts learned.   • Midterm Elections at CMS on November 6

    On November 6, 2018, Cawley Middle School will be a polling place for the midterm elections. School will also be in session for students and staff on this day. Student safety continues to be the most important priority of the Hooksett School Board, Superintendent and the Cawley administration. In the month of October, Superintendent, Dr. Charles P. Littlefield, Principal, Matthew Benson, Hooksett Police Chief, Janet Bouchard, Lieutenant, Justin Sargent and the Town Clerk of Hooksett, Todd Rainer met to implement immediate changes to various procedures to further ensure student safety on election days.     The date for Report Card Information Night for parents has been rescheduled for November 28 at 6:30 pm in the Media Center.  This year Cawley will be using a new report card to communicate student progress to parents.  Our new report card will include learning competencies to provide you with a more detailed understanding of your child's learning.   • Parent Meeting for 8th Graders Attending DC

    There will be an informational meeting for all parents who have children attending the annual Washington D.C. trip hosted by Bennett Student Travel and D.C. coordinator, Mrs. Adams on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Cawley Media Center. This meeting will give an overview of the trip, as well as suggestions for helpful items to pack.   • CoderZ Cyber Robotics Competition

    Date: October 16, 2018

    For the second year in a row “The New Hampshire Cyber Robotics Coding Competition” is being offered to CMS students. This is an exciting online competition, featuring a virtual, 3D animated robot, with a focus on computer code development. The first part of the competition, "Bootcamp," lasts from October 15 through November 4. During Bootcamp, students participate in guided online "missions." Students can even access Bootcamp missions at home. On November 5, the Qualifier round begins.
