Remote Learning Update from Mr. Benson

Dear Parents,

I first want to thank all of you for your continued support in this very challenging year. The entire school community has worked collaboratively to provide educational continuity for our students.  Winter Vacation for students and staff is December 24 – January 1. I hope that everyone has a safe, healthy and restful vacation.

Remote learning for all students will start up again on Monday, January 4, 2021. The expected return to Cawley Middle School for in person students is Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

In person students will continue to follow the Remote Learning Schedule for In Person Students Only. (Remote Learning students will continue to follow their usual daily schedule.)

If there is a 2 hour delayed opening during remote learning, the Delayed Opening Remote Learning Schedule will be utilized for in person students only.  Remote learning students will also have a delayed opening schedule which is posted on their teachers’ Schoology pages.

If a student is having an issue with their Chromebook, please have them complete a technology work request ticket that can be located in their bookmarks. This again, includes cameras and microphones.

The office is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm for pick up of materials, new devices, cameras, etc.  If the aforementioned time is not convenient, please contact me at mbenson@sau15.net to schedule another time for pick up or drop off of any items.

Please visit the Remote Learning Support Website where you will find tips for parents and students using Schoology and Chromebooks for remote learning.  This interactive website includes videos, help documents, and answers to frequently asked questions about our learning management system, Schoology.  There is also a link to request help for both parents and students.  The information can also be accessed at the top of the Cawley Middle School Website.

Happy New Year and please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Matthew Benson
Principal
