Dear Hooksett School District Parents/Guardians,

The start to the school year is approaching quickly and many parents are creating before and after school plans for their children. Consistent routines and structure are very important for children. When you create your child’s before and after school plans, we kindly ask that you try to keep your child’s before school and afterschool schedule as consistent as possible. Having a consistent schedule will also assist us in dismissing your child safely and efficiently.

When the bus transportation provider develops the bus routes and stops, they use students’ home addresses. Students will be transported to and from the stop closest to their residence. In the case of having your child picked up or dropped off at a childcare provider’s address in Hooksett, a request must be submitted to the Superintendent’s Office in writing before a bus stop is changed. Please be specific about where you want your child to be picked up/dropped off along with a weekly schedule. If the alternative arrangement causes no undue hardship on the regular bus transportation system, the Superintendent may grant the request.

This request process is not for day to day plan changes i.e. going to the neighbor’s house, going to a friend’s house, etc. We will not be allowing daily changes because of our need to maintain consistent groups of students on the bus.
