Dear Parents,

I received a report today that a student whose identity is unknown was going to bring a fake gun to the dance to scare people. The Hooksett Police Department was notified immediately and is currently investigating the alleged comment.

Nothing is more important to me than the safety of the students, staff, and community. After conferring with the Hooksett Police Department and representative from the PTA, we strongly believe the best decision for the safety of our students is to cancel the dance tonight.

The dance will be rescheduled and I will be working with the Hooksett Police Department to coordinate having an officer at all future dances. Please contact me if you have any further questions.
