Screenagers

On the evening of March 29, 2018 the parents and students of the Hooksett School District are invited to attend a free viewing of the documentary ‘Screenagers’ funded by the PTA. This film covers the concerning trend that many children and adults are participating in the overuse of time on computers, phones, etc.

Physician, mom and filmmaker Delaney Ruston takes us through the impact of all the time spent using screens and about the friction occuring in homes and schools around negotiating screen time. Delaney takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, videos games, academics and internet addiction. Screenagers reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find a balance.

As many of you know, this is an issue that is affecting many families, both students and adults. The viewing of ‘Screenagers’ will be held in gymnasium at David R. Cawley Middle School starting at 6:30 pm with a runtime of 68 minutes. We hope to see you there.
