Principal’s Message

August 31, 2017

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Cawley Middle School was named the New Hampshire 2017 Middle School of the Year in June. This honor was
a direct result of our students, parents, staff and the entire Hooksett Community. We will continue to strive to
build off the momentum from being named the top school in 2017. The ultimate goal of teachers and
administrators is to meet the individual needs of all students. Our job is to prepare your child to become an
independent and critical thinker in the 21 st Century.

The 14 th opening of the David R. Cawley Middle School brings a change that will promote parent involvement.
The thriving and highly successful Hooksett PTA will now support all three schools in Hooksett. Please look
for information on how you can sign up for the PTA, volunteer and be involved in the great events the PTA has
planned for this year.

In addition, encourage your child to make the most of their middle school experience by getting involved in the
many co-curricular opportunities. Students can participate in athletics, clubs, and the fine arts. Middle school
provides students with a place to find their niche, academically and socially, through co-curricular experiences.
Announcements for information on signing up for athletics, clubs, and fine arts will begin on the first day of
school.

All announcements and information can be found on our website, http://cawley.sau15.net/. You can follow us
on Facebook, Twitter or subscribe to our RSS feed. The website also has access to PowerSchool, teachers’ e-
mail addresses and websites. All teachers’ websites are updated weekly with upcoming assignments, tests and
information about their class. Please make sure that your email address is updated on your child’s emergency
form. We use this address to email parents important information regularly.

I have been eagerly awaiting the start of my seventh year as principal at Cawley Middle School. The staff
recognizes how fortunate we are to be working with your child. Please contact me by e-mail, telephone or set
up a meeting with my secretary if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or ideas that will assist in
your child’s positive middle school experience. I look forward to speaking and meeting you during the school
year.

Sincerely,Matthew Benson
