Athletics at David R. Cawley Middle School

Cawley Middle School is a member of the Tri-county Middle School Athletic League. Our school is placed in Division III for most sports. Standings for league contests can be found at the Tri-county Athletics website.

In order to tryout and/or participate, each student must have on file with the school nurse a current sports physical certifying that the student is eligible to participate in athletics. Likewise, this physical is required upon entrance into grade 6.

Furthermore, for each individual sport the entire sports Athletic Handbook needs to be filled out. This completed paperwork must be handed to the coach at the beginning of the tryout or at the first practice if it is “no cut” sport. Forms are part of the Athletic Handbook which will be handed out during lunch, can be picked up in the main office, or downloaded via the link above. Students will not be allowed to tryout or practice until both forms are provided to the coach.

In addition, the Athletic Program has requirements for academic performance and behavior in school. Please see the Athletic Handbook (linked above) for these guidelines.
