CMS VEX Robot Team Competition

The Cawley Vex team’s first competition was an overall success!  “Learn by doing” was definitely the theme of the day, and the kids jumped right in, even though everything was new. They got to see how these competitions work, and started developing a strategy for how to best compete. Their robot went through a couple of design variations during the day as they figured out what worked and didn’t work— in one of the early matches their claw attachment actually fell off! All in all, it was a great day and they all had fun. Our team ended up finishing in 11th place overall, and it turned out that the top 10 teams qualified for the state meet, so we just missed out. The CMS Vex team also finished 4th for the skills competition. Impressive results considering it was their first time!
